So let me tell about how cool my sister Rose is.  (Caroline, you're awesome too).  She signed up for a humanitarian trip to Thailand this summer to go help with various projects in farming communities over there.  The group didn't know exactly what they were going to be doing but she was really excited anyway.  There was no way 6 months ago when they signed up that they could know that the country was going to be in the middle of a political upheaval and the US government would be telling people to avoid traveling there if possible.  Doesn't matter.  She packed up and went with Holly over there and is having the time of her life.  She's teaching school, helping garden, working with kids who have AIDS or are affected by it and she's been put in charge of building a watchtower to watch over the community farm in a town called Saman Mit.  The town didn't have the money to build it so she organized a fundraiser to get $950.  (You can still donate for 2 1/2 more days at https://tippingbucket.org/ ).  At the rate they're going though, the fundraiser will be done alot sooner than that.  To read about the work she's doing over there go here http://hollyandrose.blogspot.com/ .  So if you want to have a friend who can dig ditches, build towers and then the next day go write articles for major newspapers (which she does in her semi spare time) you need to meet my sister.
