There's something special about summer nights. It's like the day isn't over, it just takes on a new dimension. When you get off work at 5pm or 6pm, or 3pm, your second breath kicks in and you're ready to go - 2nd job (for fun), biking, boating, soccer, climbing or whatever fits your fancy. When that moment hits its just like when you would get out for recess in 2nd grade. You can go til dark on the lake, later than dark on the bike trail, make your way down the mountain with your head lamp. And then its dark and the firepits start. The view from the mountains over the city is better when its warm. It's ok to stay up late watching 30 Rock when you have work early in the morning. You can go to semi-pro baseball games in the 7th inning and nor feel bad about missing the other innings that don't matter. You can wear Sanuks to work and everywhere else. You can have mini golf night, softball night and any night you want. So here's to a new summer. May it be your best yet.
