The worst kind of rent-a-cop

So I'm watching the Jazz game and they just showed a closeup of the Houston bench and I noticed that there's a guy who has to sit behind them facing the crowd. I'm assuming that its to keep people from throwing stuff at them or doing any number of inappropriate actions but does he really have to sit there and not watch the game? As crappy as being a security guard at the game would be (since 72% of people at the game see you as an annoying rent-a-cop) I think they should at least be allowed to watch the game. Can you imagine the conversation the next when he sees his friend at the store: "Did you see the end of the game? I can't believe they missed that shot" "No, I was observing the crowd for any misdeeds or inappropriate actions that may have occurred. Thank goodness my security skills kept them from happening." Maybe they should just get them the bench covers that they have for soccer teams. Problem solved and no unhappy rent-a-cops who missed the last play of the game because he was fulfilling his duty to protect, serve and sit on his butt.
