I´m in Mexico for what is looking to be one of the coolest holiday seasons I´ve had. It´s strange being away from Utah for Christmas, especially when there´s so much snow at home but if I can´t see it I´m ok. I hear that people are trapped at home cause there´s so much snow. ¡¡¡Awesome!!!

Way The Keyed

Unfortunately yesterday was time for another friend to leave this world. She was skiing on High Baldy at Snowbird which had opened for the first time yesterday when the avalanche happened. It's a sobering thought when you realize just how easily it could have been you or any of your friends. Over the past few years I've made many friends at Snowbird and Alta so when I heard that the victim was a girl in her 20's and where she had been skiing I figured there was a good chance I probably knew her. It would have been sad and sobering no matter who it had been, but having it this close to home wakes you up a bit. The silver lining in this is that she died doing what she loved which is more than most people can say. At least she was doing what she loved. I can imagine that she would not want people to stop skiing but would want everyone try to enjoy life a bit more and look for the best in every situation. Hopefully everyone will be safe and enjoy life to the fullest extent possible. I wish her family the best during this difficult time. Heather, enjoy the eternal powder fields that await you.

End of a road, start of a new one

As I just took my last in class final (I still have a take home final to turn in) I thought it would be appropriate to impart some of the infinite knowledge I have gained over the last few years in college.

Taking 5 years to get through college is cool and normal

No one cares what you did/how cool you were (or thought you were) in high school

Don't wear your high school lettermans jacket

High GPA doesn't necessarily mean high intelligence

Experience is better than GPA

Ski alot

C's get degrees

A girl can get through college just by having a good body

Studying on weekend nights doesn't mean you're a loser

You can learn and entire semester's worth of Statistics in a week

Language barriers do exist and can be funny

Just because you understand a subject doesn't mean you can teach it

Just because someone looks and acts smart doesn't mean they are

When you find a good group to work with, stick with them as long as you can

It's ok to not get straight A's

Ski alot

Find a hobby that lets you escape from work and school

Travel even if you're poor

You make new friends, lose old friends

Keep in touch with your friends

From what I've seen college is more fun single than married (but I've only been single)

You can make it through college without ever drinking, even if you're not at BYU

Rookie non-drinkers can beat experienced drinkers at Beer Pong (don't forget it Swain)

Rockstar tastes like Red Bull and is cheaper

5 Redbulls in a day make you feel pretty strange

All nighters aren't worth it unless you haven't studied at all

You can pass tests by only studying the night before (successfully pulled off twice)

Female gymnasts are hot!!!

Don't buy or sell your books to the bookstore. Use half.com or amazon.com

It's ok being poor

Living off of Top Ramen isn't as bad as it sounds

Chalula or Ranch is necessary on all food

Move out of your parents basement

Find good roomates

Don't use your credit card to much

The University wastes money one useless projects (painting bike lanes on the sidewalks?)

The U's campus is great for long boarding

The parking police suck

The parking police are glorified rent a cops with ticket meters instead of guns

Boots are expensive to get off your car

Fake parking passes only work for so long

Don't try to get to school on Foothill at 8:45am if you want to get to class on time

Don't waste money on a U pass, you won't find a spot

The library has a bunch of "hidden" places to study where no one bothers you

Some people are dumb enough to try to cheat

Some people try to cheat for you without you knowing. This is very stupid and annoying when you get in trouble for it (thanks Marshall)

The math tutoring center is excellent

Facebook is the best way to get through a boring class

It takes a special type of person to be an accountant. I'm not one of them

It's awesome to be in school when you have a good football team

7:30 classes should only be taken when absolutely necessary

Working 2 jobs, playing on the soccer team and running the ski club at the same time doesn't work

Get a general idea of what you want in life and what makes you happy

Choose a career that you're excited about

Don't get a job that you hate going to everyday

Don't believe everything you hear

Follow the news

Learn from smarter people

You're not the smartest person there, get input from others

I'm excited to have new struts and tires, guy thing I guess?

Now I don't have to worry about blowing a tire and flying off the canyon road

I remember when The Office was funny

I hate it when I leave my fly down on accident but it's funny to see people's reaction before I realize it.

That's how I usually realize that its down

It's not worth feeling embarrassed about stuff

I try to just laugh at the stupid stuff I do, and I do alot

I think I trip 3 times more than the average person

90% of the when I trip its in front of someone

My dad's favorite thing to say when I trip is "Have a nice trip! See you next fall!"

I can't help but laugh

The funniest fall ever was falling down the stairs at a movie theater when I had a broken ankle and missed the stair with my crutch

I got 3 new pairs of skis this week

Here's something to think about (thank you Caroline for giving me a new perspective on life): If you were a regular squirrel and met a flying squirrel, how mad would you be?

I'm glad to have it done but not excited to take it

I hate Caroline's brother in law who takes it for fun and gets a 770
